What Should You Say? Is It Really Important

Is it important what you say to other people, does it really make a difference? I believe it does. Most of us are very aware of the dangers of physical abuse, yet how many of us are careless and clumsy in the way we speak? Many people may become hard-skinned when receiving hard comments, but that might not be all that happens. When a situation is dangerous we would run from it or take cover. We might build up a wall or strong fence around it and put up signs to warn people away. When someone is speaking abusively we will either walk away or put up our defences, making opening up and being honest very difficult. If this continued the person could become increasingly shut down and retreat into their own world.

What Am I Wearing?

We all have different clothes for different functions. It might be a uniform to provide a sense of belonging, such as uniforms for school or a suit that needs to protect you in your line of work, such as a diving suit, space suit, arctic suit or miners suit that would offer you the different sorts of protection vital in keeping you alive in extreme situations. Some clothing or overalls are practical and need to differentiate you from the general public, such as doctors, nurses or shopkeepers overalls, which need to protect their wearers and enable  the general public to recognize them.
